Bargara Vets

Vet’s golf as we know it today commenced in the 1980’s and is administered by the Australian Veteran Golf Association through State and District bodies. There are over eight thousand Queensland Members in the 23 districts, which includes Wide Bay. Our area contains 17 clubs with Bargara having in excess of 270 members. Veteran golf provides a unique opportunity for men and women to enjoy each others company at a reasonable cost and on a regular basis. Bargara Vets play most Tuesdays during the calendar year and conduct a full fixture list of ‘open’ and ‘club’ events during the season. Additionally, Bargara has hosted a number of State and Regional Championship events in recent times. We welcome visitors at all times of the year.

D3 Nett Winner

The 2nd round of the Vets Championships wasn’t about playing good golf, that would not have been good enough, you had to play good golf in a howling wind. Our 6 smiling Vets here did just that. How many rounds were destroyed by the wind ? Mine certainly was and my playing partners. So well done to these players and also to the other overall Championship winners. Jan Johnson makes her second appearance in a week on the website with her win in the Division 3 Nett group, I think your handicap has gone out far enough now Jan – perhaps you should have entered the Ladies Classic afterall. A full list of winners and the various pin and approach shots is now available on our Golf Results webpage

This one is a cracker. Married for 50+ years and both members of our Golf Club for 11 years. Both our blushing bride and groom have played prominent roles within the Club over the past few years. I would never have got this from the bride but the groom gave it away for me.
